Taverna Loggia, nestled in the heart of Dubrovnik at Ul. Nikole Tesle 8, stands out as a serene culinary gem by the marina. This charming eatery greets guests with a lush garden terrace, warm café lights, and verdant greenery that promises a tranquil dining atmosphere far from the bustling Old Town. From the moment you step inside, the ambience exudes a cozy yet sophisticated vibe, ideal for everything from intimate dinners to family gatherings.
The menu pays homage to Dubrovnik’s rich coastal heritage, emphasizing fresh, expertly prepared seafood alongside hearty grilled meats. Dishes like the octopus sailor style and the expertly filleted sea bass truly capture the essence of the Adriatic, delivering bursts of fresh, clean flavors. The meat mixed grill offers robust and perfectly spiced cuts, balancing richness and texture with skillful cooking. Even simple staples like table bread are served warm, enhancing every bite.
Taverna Loggia’s attention to detail shines in both its cuisine and service. The staff consistently receive praise for their attentiveness and warmth, making diners feel genuinely welcomed. Whether it’s an offer of local rakija or thoughtful care for young guests, the service complements the food’s quality with considerate hospitality. Notably, the innovative twist on classic dishes—such as shaving butter over beef tartare instead of the traditional egg yolk—showcases their culinary creativity and respect for tradition.
For dessert, the typical Dubrovnik almond cake presents a delicate balance of sweetness, ending the meal on a light, satisfying note. While some diners have encountered less memorable dishes or service moments, the overall consensus highlights Taverna Loggia as a destination that marries freshness, flavor, and atmosphere with evident passion. It remains a highly recommended stop for those seeking genuine Croatian flavors paired with genuine hospitality in a scenic setting.
“ Amazing dinner! Very nice atmosphere and lovely staff! We went as a group of three and ordered the meat mixed grill for 2 people and the octopus sailor style to share. The quality and value for money didn’t disappoint! We also tried the typical Dubrovnik cake with almonds which was lovely and not too sweet. The atmosphere was nice and quiet, with cafe lights and loads of green plants. Even if it is on the pricier side, I would definitely recommend for a nice dinner with family or for a date! ”
“ My partner and I had a very late lunch, early dinner here based on reviews and location to our accommodation. What a find! We had beef tartare to share. The flavours and freshness were spot on. Usually an egg yolk on top, shaved butter instead. Loved the twist. We ordered the grilled sea bass to share. It was expertly filleted at the table. Wow, just wow! So fresh. The sides that accompanied the fish were also outstanding. The wine list is also excellent. We can't recommend this restaurant enough. Thank you to the wonderful team for a memorable experience. ”
“ The fish soup could be any other soup as it didn’t taste anything other than broth. The cuttlefish dish was pretty tasteless too. The meat was ok. We didn’t get a great service, they didn’t ask about drinks when ordering, neither when our glasses were empty. Didn’t take the dishes when we were done. At the end they ask you if you want to put a tip so you feel forced to. It was our first meal in Croatia so maybe it’s standard, but not a great first impression. ”
“ We chose the place, because it was located quite close to our apartment, where we arrived quite late on our first day in Dubrovnik. That turned out to be a very lucky choice. It is a very cozy place with a beautiful garden located in a big green yard behind a quite impressive gate. The staff was very friendly and the orders came fast. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the octopus and the grilled squid. The taste really stood out, even by the standards of the usually really good Croatian seafood. The prices are average for Dubrovnik. We can absolutely recommend the place. ”
“ A great restaurant near Dubrovnik’s marina, away from the old town’s hubbub The food was great, my partner had the shrimp and Gorgonzola pasta which was amazing, I had the grilled squid which was also good. The servers are very nice and helpful, so is the owner. We were offered a glass of rakija by our server which was extremely kind. The outdoor sitting area is nice during the summer ”
